Quickstart

In 15 minutes you will have a working agent on your own web widget, answering questions from a knowledge base you uploaded, with a personality you control. Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp follow the same shape but require platform-side onboarding (1–3 business days).

Before you begin

1. Create your organization

When you sign up, the platform creates an organization in your name. The org owns all conversations, documents, bookings, and integrations. You can rename it later under Settings → Organization; the URL slug stays stable.

2. Pick a template (or start blank)

Onboarding offers seven starting templates: blank, beauty, dental, auto-repair, coaching, home-services, and wedding-planner. Each seeds three things into your new agent:

The template is forgotten after signup. Once seeded, the runtime has no concept of which template you chose. You can edit personality, services, and tools freely — adding rows, removing tools, rewriting prompts.

3. Tune the personality

Open /dashboard/agent. You will see a PETG editor with five panels: Role, Environment, Tone, Goal, Guardrails. Fill them in the way you would describe the agent to a new hire who has never spoken to your customers.

Add 3–5 example phrases. These are short user → assistant pairs that calibrate the model's tone better than any prose description. Skip them and your replies will sound more generic.

For a deep dive, read Personality (PETG).

4. Upload knowledge

Under /dashboard/documents, upload one or two documents. The platform supports plain text, markdown, and PDF. Each document is chunked, embedded, and stored for semantic retrieval.

When a user asks a question, the platform retrieves the most similar chunks and injects them into the system prompt. The agent answers from the chunks — without quoting them verbatim.

5. Enable the tools the agent needs

Tools are skills the model can call. Under /dashboard/agent → Tools, toggle on the ones you want:

Rollout cadence. Tools are rolled out by category — scheduling and escalation first, then lead capture. See Status for the current rollout schedule.

6. Embed the widget on your site

Paste this one line into your site, just before </body>:

<script
  src="https://cdn.neofir.com/loader.js"
  data-org="your-org-slug"
  data-api-key="pk_..."
  async></script>

The loader is a 1.2 KB IIFE that pulls the full widget (≤ 47 KB gzipped) only when the user opens the chat bubble. Welcome message, shortcuts, and colours come from the org config — no per-site overrides needed.

7. Test it

  1. Open your site, click the chat bubble.
  2. Send a greeting. The agent should reply with your configured welcome message.
  3. Ask a question covered by your uploaded document. The agent should answer from the chunk, in your tone.
  4. Ask for a price you did not upload. The agent should say it does not know — that is the guardrails working.
